Who We Are

Founded in 1994 by Gary Taylor, Excalibur Awards started as a small one-person business focused on producing trophies for the local sports leagues and associations.  In 2001 Gary opened our first full-fledged retail store in Clemmons, NC and in January of 2006 he moved the business down the street to our current location at 2575 Old Glory Road.

In August of 2006, the business was sold to our current owner, Al Cheek, who is a native of Winston Salem and who had recently moved back to the area with his family from Phoenix, AZ.

Al had spent the previous 20+ years working for organizations such as American Express, PowerCerv, Cendant, Lowe's Home Improvement Stores, and GMAC Insurance.

It was during this time in the corporate arena that Al developed his understanding of the importance that service, communication, and quality have on the customer experience, and on their purchasing decisions.

As our business has continued to grow, our commitment to service and support has been the key ingredient to each and every successful client project.
